Jayce Long Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist | PSY30370

Dr. Jayce Long is a licensed psychologist in California, who conducts individual, group, and couples psychotherapy for adults of all ages, as well as clinical supervision. Dr. Long works with a broad range of clinical presentations, including chronic depression, complex and developmental trauma, grief and loss, athletes and professionals struggling with self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. He also has advanced training in psychodynamic therapy, working with older adults, and Mentalization-based Treatment for those diagnosed with personality disorders. He continues his growth and training as a psychoanalytic candidate at the New Center for Psychoanalysis, Los Angeles.

Dr. Long tends to view people as complex, and that our difficulties are intertwined with our relationships, culture, and lifestyle, past and present. He values getting to know a person's total experience, beyond their behaviors that often underlie anxiety and depression symptoms. Ultimately, his efforts are aimed at cultivating a meaningful, trustworthy, and collaborative relationship meant to help individuals reflect on and understand where they have been, where they are, and where they want to go.

His philosophy is a psychodynamic approach. He focuses on the underlying emotional and relational patterns that come up in therapy, then through a connected therapy relationship, invites a deconstruction process that leads to more intentional and values-guided ways of being and relating.
